POST 1 .
I start in to 2025 both late and with an apology. I haven't been keeping this "blog" up to date recently, for which I am sorry. But I promise to try and do better for the remainder of the year.
So far in 2025 the Club has been very busy. We completed the 12 car series with the last remaining rounds, with me sitting in the silly seat next to Guy Bird for a couple of them. To be honest I'd forgotten how much fun they can be!! But, at my age do I need the extra stress, well it seems so as my son has recently bought himself a car to compete in and he wants me to sit alongside him! So, in short 2025 looks like being an exciting one for father and son.
The AGM this year was probably the best attended I can remember for many a year. As a result we now have a a committee who seem keen and willing to progress the Club forward.
Unfortunately the Taurus Rally didn't run this year as the numbers of entries was not where it should have been and the decision was taken to cancel rather than make a loss. But on the bright side, this will be replaced in August by another road event organised by Simon Bentley. It will be known as the Mintex Dales Rally, following negations as to use of the "Mintex" name. Read the full story here.
Before that in July, (20thJuly), the Catterick Targa Rally returns. The Regulations have in fact just gone live today. We are expecting great things this year as we will once again be running back on out traditional date in the summer. Full information here
The Heritage Run in June is full with 60 cars participating and all credit to the team for once again delivering what will be a great run out.
So, as they saying goes, the future is bright, the future is De Lacy!! (well sort of)
I will be back in June to report on the Run and plans for our other events coming up.
